THE OTHER ART FAIR

Hi guys, Eme here. So those of you who follow us on instagram probably already saw this coming! (The rest of you lovely readers can get the insta advantage by following us on the gram @anaalablog). Steph and I are extremely excited to share our experience visiting 'The Other Art Fair'! (TOAF). Steph and I are extremely excited to share our experience visiting 'The Other Art Fair'! (TOAF)

So TOAF is an art fair presented by Saatchi Art (honestly Saatchi does no wrong). The concept of the TOAF is creating a fair for artists rather than galleries & as a result allowing the artists to express themselves independently and unhindered by boring things like "marketability" and so on. Unsurprisingly, the selection of art present was outstanding in every way. It was bold, expressive and stimulating. To add a cherry on top of the cake, the original artists were present on the day to have chats about their pieces. I spoke to a couple of artists about how they were able to adopt certain techniques in their painting style, how they came up with and developed concepts etc. All of which I probably wouldn't have the opportunity to do on a normal day. ALSO! all the original pieces were on sale, and I must say the prices of the art were very much affordable. I think I will definitely be saving up to by a piece or two next year.

Scroll down for some pictures of the event. (The pictures really don't do it justice, but hopefully it gives good insight into how amazing it was!)
