BEAUTY IN AZ.

In collaborative efforts, Ayo Busari and Slow_Zeus have developed a captivating photography/ poetry piece which illustrates an appreciation for the natural beauty of the earth's landscapes accented by modern structures and developments. The photographs were taken during a holiday in Tuscan, Arizona and are an introduction to a larger video project to be released in the next coming months.  The series of photographs presents itself in a form similar to a travelogue, encapsulating the visual experiences of the voyager. The warm tones introduced into the photographs give off a nostalgic reminder of the resultant pictures you would get from a disposable camera. It gives the impression of a cherished memory of some sort. I think this visual ties in with the poem quite nicely;
"Searching through my memory, All I can find is this beautiful scenery."

A'NAALA AT THE PROPHECY POP UP STORE.

Hey, guys! Steph here. Last week I headed over to the Prophecy pop up store in South London. Prophecy is an up and coming clothing brand run by 4 guys which they started as a Tumblr blog called "Living Lit" and then subsequently kicked off as the prophecy clothing line. The pop-up store was alive with moody lights, trap music, and a healthy attendance of urban hipsters. So while I was there I had a quick interview with 3 out of 4 of the boys behind the brand and also a little feel around of the room for myself. The interview is in the video below! (p.s. pardon the graininess it was super dark).

DAMILOLA ONAFUWA ON LAGOS ANTI-GOVERNMENT PROTEST

Nigerian photographer, Damilola Onafuwa took to the streets of Lagos to document incredibly passionate and emotional photographs of the Lagos 6th of February protests against the extreme conditions of living and working throughout the country. It is enough to say that these burning images speak for themselves and immortalize the emotions and pain felt on the day as well as the beauty of the unity in the moment. He has taken great care in capturing and translating the atmosphere of the protest into these well-crafted images against the backdrop of Lagos.

ZAHA HADID AT THE SERPENTINE

Hey guys, Eme here.

So Steph and I are trying out this new name for you guys- "Team 'Naala". I quite like it! Steph on the other hand thinks it's a bit sad that I'm coming up with collective names for our readers already. Anyways, we agree to disagree.

We decided to be cute last weekend and had a ‘friend date’ in London. After having one pancake too many [shout out to My Old Dutch ] we decided to visit the Serpentine gallery for an ongoing exhibition on the early works of  the late Zaha Hadid.

Zaha Hadid was an extraordinary woman and renowned architect. Her architectural firm was actually responsible for the extension of Serpentine where the exhibition took place. The exhibition focused on Hadid’s early paintings/drawings prior to her first built structure.
